Start of construction in the Industriepark West is in sight

Building application signed and submitted

The ink is dry, the building application has been signed and submitted to the Fulda building authority. Now the partner companies involved can move on to implementation planning with their know-how and their excavators, trucks, and cranes, because work on the new JUMO plant in Industriepark West near Rodges is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2023. JUMO shareholder Bernhard Juchheim and architect Marco Schlothauer, who is responsible for the project planning, have now signed the building application.

The signing is a milestone. All the responsible planners (including those for project management, architecture, building services, supporting structure, development/open spaces) and contractors (including those for structural engineering/shell construction, technical building equipment, electrical, sanitary and sprinkler systems) came to JUMO Plant 3 in Fulda for the occasion. "I have been positively impressed by the trusting, cooperative relationship and the pace over the past ten months," said shareholder Bernhard Juchheim, thanking the companies for their preliminary work.

JUMO Managing Director Dr. Steffen Hoßfeld and Overall Project Manager Stefan Reith appealed to the partners to solve possible hurdles in the construction process in a cooperative and results-oriented manner. "To meet current challenges such as rising prices or the availability of materials and personnel, we rely on integrated project management," explained Stefan Reith. Here, planners and executing companies sit at the same table to realize a project on schedule and on budget. "This process is very innovative and has proven itself so far," says Reith.

The new plant is the largest infrastructure project in JUMO's nearly 75-year history. "We all bear responsibility for adding another successful chapter to the company's history," Dr. Steffen Hoßfeld concluded.

According to the current planning status, the investment volume is around 48 million euros. Construction completion is planned for December 2024, with ramp-up in the first quarter of 2025. The project team is striving to further optimize this schedule.
JUMO had acquired the approximately 100,000-square-meter site at the end of 2013. In addition to temperature sensor production, the new manufacturing facility will also house the complete production area for pressure measurement technology and the associated logistics.
JUMO will produce there more sustainably, more efficiently, and more digitally, as the machines and systems there are at the highest technical level. Further growth can also be generated here, making the company fit for the future. At the same time, the new location is a clear commitment to Fulda and the region.
